Underdog toast on a knife edge.


Almost weekend, music is piling up in the Jackplug inbox. Meet Backdraft, meet Bakaman, meet E-Dubble.

Backdraft is a Breakbeat duo from Manchester, UK. They are Karrie Price & Paul Chadwick, but it looks like Chadwick is usually the one behind the decks. They make everything from Breakbeat to Dubstep to Electro.. well you probably know the recipe. This is their ‘Pon a knife edge’ freaturing Manchester’s MC Fox.

South African Bakaman has been written about before on Jackplug. As frontman of the duo Jam Jar, Paul Stubbs was kind enough to do a small interview. Together with his production partner Soundproof he is still making that sound, ‘Toast To The Roasted’ being their latest track:

And then there is E-Dubble from the US. He spent his entire time in high school and college making all kinds of music with some friends. After college they started the group ‘Young English‘ and with the money they made they bought a place to live in Baltimore. They call it ‘The Hampden Mansion’ and this is from where E-dubble writes his music now. One of the college friends is Peter Muth, and together they made ‘Underdog’:
