Swedish So&Such signed bass talent Elgus is sharing his last work of 2017. A deliciously twisted edit on Bruno Mars’ 2016 single ‘Finesse’.
For reference, the list of the producer’s best known work yet includes saucy original tracks like ‘Faith‘, ‘Time Traveler‘ and ‘Blue Sky‘, as well as great remixes on Elliot Berger and San Holo. More recently Elgus has been working out smooth edits on Missy Elliott and Schoolboy Q which in terms of style sound a lot more like the Swede’s most recent rework.
Elgus’ ‘Finesse’ edit pitches the audio of the entire track from Bruno Mars’ ’24K Magic’ album down a notch. Elgus about the track: “It goes in the same direction as Bruno’s later, synth-funk vibe, but with a bit of my own touch. It’s groovy, it’s bouncy, it’s melodic and the sound meets somewhere between clean and lo-fi dirt with the DIY, pitched down acapella and the somewhat off grid drum groove. A taste of what my future original music will sound like.”
