One of the big remixes this week: Kygo’s take on The Weeknd’s new single ‘Often’. Slightly deviates from Kygo’s earlier work, still sounds a bit similar. Though in that recent Pete Tong AMA the British showhost mentioned the new Kygo material (about to be released through Sony) sounds way more unique. Besides that, this new remix is solid gold.
French label Bromance Records is home for dj’s such as Brodinski, Gesaffelstein and Club Cheval. They are sharing ‘Javier’, a track by Myd. The link to the original artist can’t be found in the player (you should go here) and the entire thing is written in fucking uppercase. But the track itself is very cool. Lovely aproach to a big club sound, aggressive yet built like an oldschool house track.
Pop track, also pretty aggressive, by Brayton Bowman. Also all fucking uppercase. Enough about that. That track though, the instrumental sounds brilliant and intentionally rough around the edges. Bowman’s topline is quite the earworm. Check out this track on Soundcloud for the lyrics. Love it.
Dj’s Grumble and Kreap made this new hip-hop beat titled ‘ImAlright’. Lovely composition, leaves lots of room for additional vocals but even without those it’s a good listen. In all honesty, a big reason for that is the sample in the track which is ‘borrowed’ from Foster The People’s ‘Helena Beats’. Would’ve been fair to mention by the remixers as well.
