Not really giving away any great names yet, this is more like a pilot post. No offence to Pete, a friend who was friendly enough to put one of his remixes up on Soundcloud. Yusef Lateef – Love Theme for Spartacus (MoccaSub Remix). This remix is actually very good, altough it’s just a small edit.
The man remixed is living legend Yusef Lateef, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but as a child moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1925. Here he picked up different musical influences at a young age. The following is written on his website:
“Yusef Lateef is a Grammy Award-winning composer, performer, recording artist, author, visual artist, educator and philosopher who has been a major force on the international musical scene for more than six decades. In recognition of his many contributions to the world of music, he has been named an American Jazz Master for the year 2010 by the National Endowment for the Arts.” He is a really intriguin man actually.
