Basement Jaxx, Louis La Roche, Brayton Bowman, Dabeull, The Captain, Fatboy Slim, Mighty Mouse, Patrick Baker

Let’s do this again. Been tracking music this past week, splitting up the best finds in three separate posts. Here’s the first few, enjoy!

Basement Jaxx – Never Say Never (Louis La Roche Remix)
It has been a few weeks already. But if you can, have a listen to Basement Jaxx’ seventh studio album ‘Junto’. The whole thing, including some great remixes on the deluxe version of the album is worth your time. Especially if you enjoyed earlier Basement Jaxx albums before the 2009 Zephyr album. After a few remixes by Mark Knight, Wayward and big room stuff from Tiësto and MOTi Brittish producer Louis La Roche took on the album’s lead single ‘Never Say Never’. And it’s just as fun.

Brayton Bowman – Jaywalk (Dabeull Remix)
Harlem singer Brayton Bowman has been collecting a large amount of plays on his new music this summer. One of those tracks is ‘Jaywalk’, produced by NYC producer Drew Of the Drew. The original is downloadable here. Parisian producer Dabeull has been setting up a rework with this slightly more interesting instrumental to support the awesome song by Bowman.

The Captain – The Bossa Fella’s Funk
Closing this one post with a Bossa take on Fatboy Slim’s 1998 ‘Rockafeller Skank’. The chops are from the FS track, but pretty sure Italian producer The Captain dug into the old original samples to construct his remix. The vocals are fromVinyl Dogs, Those guitars are ripped straight off of ‘Sliced Tomatoes’and ‘Beat Girl’. Along with just sampling Fatboy Slim’s own ensemble together with some other bossa nova sounds, The Captain made a fun rework of a classic.

Mighty Mouse – That Piano Track
Over a half year ago, London producer Mighty Mouse threw up an amazing track titled ‘Shaker Faker’. It did good in many sets, summer classic. This week Mighty Mouse follows up on Shaker Faker with a new tune titled ‘That Piano Track’. Equally well produced track, obvious piano in there. Maybe not the classic ‘Shaker Faker’ is going to be, but definitely something essential to put on. Do it for the bassline.

Patrick Baker – Let Me Go
Patrick Baker’s new track is drenched in that same sound. Piano’s, smooth vocals, house production. And it’s been a while since the American singer/producer did something similar, as most of his recent stuff was a little slow and sensitive. Good to hear this again, pretty similar to his earlier collaborations with different artists such as Rogue Vogue and Satin Jackets.
