An Analog Affair

There’s some kind of trend in music these days. And it seems it hit the mainstream hard as of last year: elektronic/analog beats with dreamy, indie vocals. The use of this combination was first noticed by part of the public in The Postal Service, a side project of Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and elektronica producer Dntel. Last year Christian insomniac Owl City had a major hit with Fireflies and the real fire in the mainstream was lit.

The next big thing in this genre might well be The Analog Affair. A band formed in the spring of 2008 during an intermission of beer pong. Which begs to question, why have an intermission at beer pong? It’s good that they had a break though, because Cody Moser and Evan Baker found out they had a passion for, as they call it, “underground indie electrodramatic pop”. So that’s what they started making.

Their latest song is called Under the Meteor Shower and actually does show some potential.

Here’s some more music for those who like the self-crowned guerilla strategists (for being unknown and able to move quick, as they only use two computers).
Fade.

There’s more for download at their Soundcloud page.
