After a few teasers and official releases the Breda based dj/producer is fixing up followers with a new free bootleg on Whitney Houston’s ‘I’m Every Woman’ (Or was in Chaka Khan?) Sassy bootleg garnished with some tasty vocal chops, guaranteed to satisfy some hungry househeads out there.
This track was uploaded a month ago, although it looks like Mazde’s remix on Disclosure’s ‘Help Me Lose My Mind’ really took flight this week. The vocal parts, sung by London Grammar, get pitched up and down and hover above this really flume-ish instrumental written by German producer Mazde.
Did we use the word sassy yet? It definitely applies to Manicanparty’s new track ‘Fools Gold’, which also features fellow NYC brass house band Too Many Zooz. Picking up vibes similar to The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, even though it doesn’t sound like MP and TMZ are copying them in any way. Let’s just call it now; Manicanparty must go big. Internationally.
‘No Rest For The Wicked’, from Lykke Li’s album ‘I Never Learn’ gets remixed by NYC producer Figgy. The original version already has an unbreakable vocal track, and figgy doesn’t mess with that. Instead, Lykke Li’s vocal track is dressed up with a few layers of electronic instruments. Smooth.
FS Green’s latest free track comes from a compilation by Orthogon Wolf, an Amsterdam collective who host their own club night here. The whole compilation is a collaboration with Basserk Records and the selection is magnificent. The FS Green track itself is a rework on Midnight Star’s classic ‘Midas Touch’. And yes it’s golden.
